Sweet Spot Detection in TEMS™ Pocket
Sweet Spot Detection is a feature in TEMS Pocket that helps users find geographical locations ideal for measurements based on their specific requirements. The feature is available both in professional mode and on a controller tablet connected to one or multiple agents.
To configure the parameters for Sweet Spot Detection, edit the configuration file located on the device. The file is called config.ssd, and it can either be downloaded from TEMS Director Fleet, or manually placed on the device. An example file is also included in the installation.
Sweet spot detection is started from the right hamburger menu. Once initiated, TEMS Pocket begins evaluating the parameters specified in the configuration file.
If a condition set is fulfilled, an event will be triggered on the outdoor map.
The area of the detected sweet spot will be colored and tagged with the name of the condition set on a controller tablet. Fulfilled condition sets will also be shown for each agent in the agent cell data view.
In the example file, there are two condition sets; Near and Far. These sets are based on the distance to the serving cell, combined with a signal strength threshold. As soon as the measurement device is inside the defined radius for either condition set and the signal strength is equal to or better than the defined value, TEMS Pocket will trigger the Sweet Spot event and plot it on the map. "Sweet Spot Detection event".
There are two settings for Sweet Spot Detection found under TEMS Pocket settings, general settings, Sweet Spot Detection, trigger reset delay. This value defines how long the triggered condition set should remain fulfilled, even if any of its conditions are no longer met.
This avoids repeated triggering of events in areas close to the defined thresholds. Marker radius, this value defines the size of the plotted marker on the map. It can be adjusted to match the desired zoom level while performing Sweet Spot Detection.
Discover the Sweet Spot Detection feature, introduced in TEMS™ Pocket 26.2. which enables you to find the best testing locations before performing your desired measurements. This is especially useful for site verification and is primarily designed for a multi-device setup (controller/agent).
