Accurate Simulations of Mentum Planet Provide Critical Inputs to WiTech TEA Business Analysis Tool
Gatineau, Que. and Pisa, Italy - April 1, 2009 - Infovista, the global leader of IP and RF planning, assurance and optimization software solutions, and WiTechTM, a leading consulting, engineering and solutions company active in the broadband wireless access (BWA) field, today announced they are working together to provide a better way to develop and maintain business cases for LTE and WiMAX deployments.
Infovista is adding the WiTech TEA business case analysis tool to its product portfolio as a complement to its network planning solutions. The accurate RF engineering data within Mentum Planet® will provide realistic inputs for the TEA technical models. This will translate into credible economic forecasts of 4G deployments. "Wireless operators are faced with the challenge of defining their 4G strategy considering multiple OFDMA-based technologies and what-if scenarios," said Bernard Breton, chief operating officer, Mentum. "With the joint capabilities of Mentum Planet and WiTech TEA, operators can fill the void left between the business planning and the detailed technical planning, allowing them to stay on course even when some changes are required during the deployment of a 4G network."
TEA for LTE and WiMAX is a business support system application that addresses the marketing implications of a 4G deployment, as well as related economic, financial and technical considerations. The software considers detailed network dimensioning - an exercise that can be dramatically improved through the use of an accurate RF planning solution - and provides the strategic planning group with the ability to run multiple scenarios and compare them from a financial perspective.
"Infovista is a recognized leader in the field of RF planning and the accuracy and ease of use of the simulations within Mentum Planet makes it an obvious choice for TEA customers," said Andrea Calcagno, chief executive officer, WiTech." Our joint solution will provide network equipment vendors and the strategic planners within wireless operators with a better way to build their business cases."
