Eircom Business Customers to Benefit from Enhanced Visibility into Network Performance
Paris, France and Herndon, VA (United States), July 10, 2007 – InfoVista S.A., the global leader of IP and RF planning, assurance and optimization software solutions, today announced that VistaInsight® for Networks is being deployed by eircom, Ireland’s largest telecommunications supplier, for performance management across its next generation core network (NGN). InfoVista will be used predominantly by eircom’s managed services division to provide business customers with enhanced visibility into the performance of IP and Metro Ethernet services running across the core network which covers the whole of Ireland. In addition, the software will also be used by eircom’s network operations team to carry out performance monitoring and troubleshooting internally on the corporate WAN.

The InfoVista platform automatically collects and analyzes data from eircom’s next generation network and presents this detailed performance data within a dynamic, online portal environment. This provides eircom with visibility into network activity that was previously impossible to visualize. eircom’s business customers can then access this information to get a better understanding of how the network is performing at any given time.
Customers can subscribe to one of two different types of reports depending on the level of detail they require. The more basic reporting functionality provides customers with real-time information on connectivity, including availability of service, success rate of traffic and dropped packets. For customers requiring a more sophisticated level of reporting, eircom’s advanced reporting option presents more detail on information such as latency and jitter. Customers can also access Netflow-related network statistics.

Based on the initial success of the InfoVista roll out, eircom plans to extend the InfoVista solution to include integration with its fault management software from EMC SMARTS.
