This exciting initiative was a collaborative effort with leading industry players including BT Group, Econet Wireless, Telus, Telecom Italia, Bludigit (an Italgas company), and Zain Saudi Arabia.

Simultaneously, we unveiled new versions of all our TEMS™ products. In this edition of the newsletter, we will explore the enhanced features we’ve integrated and demonstrate how they can elevate your network testing capabilities.

OnePlus 12 device and laptop running TEMS Investigation

TEMS™ Investigation

TEMS Investigation is our powerful drive testing solution for initial tuning, 5G site acceptance, software upgrade verification, new feature validation, network troubleshooting and more.

TEMS Investigation 26.1 includes support for new phones including the OnePlus 12 series and the Xiaomi 14 series. Multi-SIM support enables the recording and analysis of measurements collected with multi-SIM handsets (including eSIM) and it supports independent execution of data and voice services on different stacks. The release also contains many usability enhancements including automatic toggling between online and offline maps and a new low battery check in the equipment health monitoring module.

TEMS™ Pocket

TEMS Pocket is a powerful, yet highly portable phone-based mobile network testing solution with support for 5G devices and scanners. It allows you to verify, optimize and troubleshoot your mobile network in environments requiring a portable testing solution such as malls, stadiums, offices, and areas with limited accessibility where drone-based testing is optimal.

TEMS Pocket 26.1 includes support for new phones including the OnePlus 12 series and the Xiaomi 14 series. The new multi-SIM license allows dual stack logging for Qualcomm chipset devices. Layer 3 messages and events are shown from both SIM stacks simultaneously. The release also contains many usability enhancements including remote control from TEMS Director for TEMS Pocket Commercial devices, additional OTT media testing actions and enhanced YouTube testing.

TEMS™ Paragon

TEMS Paragon is a multi-device benchmarking solution designed to compare your network’s service quality with competitors. Its purpose-built user interface allows non-technical drivers to conduct advanced network testing effortlessly.

TEMS Paragon 8.1 includes support for new phones including the OnePlus 12 series and the Xiaomi 14 series. Multi-SIM support enables the recording and analysis of measurements collected with multi-SIM handsets (including eSIM) and it supports independent execution of data and voice services on different stacks. The release also contains many usability enhancements including a new system performance check that verifies the hardware on which TEMS Paragon is running meets the minimum requirements to ensure test results are not affected by insufficient hardware. Up to 8 UEs are now supported per NUC in a TEMS Paragon system reducing overall hardware requirements and costs for large scale testing.

TEMS Sense - Phone-based remote testing unit

TEMS™ Sense

TEMS Sense is a phone-based remote testing solution delivering fully automated monitoring and real-time analytics from various network locations. It can be deployed in fixed locations like airports and stadiums, or in mobile setups such as taxis and public transport, all managed and controlled remotely.

TEMS Sense 8.1 includes support for new Samsung S24+ SM-S926U/U1 and W models as well as Android 14 support for S23+ SM-S916B. The new SIM profile switching feature allows users to switch between physical and eSIMs remotely via a script. Interactivity testing enhancements include new testing profiles for eGaming, remote meetings and video chat. The release also contains many usability enhancements including additional OTT media testing actions and enhanced YouTube testing.

TEMS™ Discovery

TEMS Discovery is the wireless industry’s most comprehensive network analytics and optimization solution based on mobile network testing data. It provides you with unparalleled insights into network performance as perceived by your subscribers at the device, application and network level.

TEMS Discovery 26.1 includes support for all the new information elements included in the TEMS 26.1 and 8.1 releases as well as the latest Keysight Nemo file format version (2.57). Updated reporting template samples are included for common optimization and troubleshooting use cases including specific Wi-Fi templates. Analysis enhancements include support for dual SIM analysis of multiple stacks in parallel, Google Street View support and enhanced 5G beam visualization. Usability enhancements include the ability to exchange site and cell configurations between TEMS Discovery and TEMS Cloud and more.

TEMS™ Cloud

TEMS Cloud enables you to plan and manage multiple network testing projects across a variety of TEMS network testing solutions, all from a centralized back-office. You can create work orders containing test routines and drive routes and distribute these to field test teams, monitor testing progress, analyze the captured data and create reports and dashboards.

TEMS Cloud 24.2 includes support for a new Mediation Server, allowing post-processing of TEMS log files without changes to the existing log-file handling workflow. It also adds a number of usability enhancements including bidirectional synchronization between analytics views, multiple map widget support, enhanced legends, and a dedicated L3 and Event Message Viewer. TEMS Cloud Analytics 24.2 adds support for site/cell display on the Map. It is also possible to analyze data from streaming data.

When a merger between two North American mobile operators brought regulatory compliance challenges, the newly consolidated entity turned these requirements into a competitive edge.

The cloud-based automation of network testing routines enables Nokia to centralize and automate reporting and real-time validation of testing, reducing the number of failed drive tests that must be repeated. The solution removes the need for Nokia to maintain dedicated servers and redundancy. Reuse of licenses globally and use of commercial off-the-shelf devices significantly increases the efficiency of network testing.

Located 300ft in the air, and serving as home to the London Air Ambulance, it presents unique challenges for testing both terrestrial and air networks.
