Thirty years is a long time in telecom. In an industry that reinvents itself constantly, reaching a three-decade milestone means something. It means resilience. It means trust. And above all, it means clarity. Because nothing accelerates progress more than understanding.

Since our beginnings in 1995, networks have grown from simple IP beginnings to today’s cloud-native, multi-vendor, multi-technology ecosystems. They carry more data, support more critical services, and face more pressure than ever. With every new generation, complexity has grown exponentially.

Yet one thing has remained constant: the need for clear, actionable intelligence that helps operators make confident decisions.

For 30 years, that has been Infovista’s purpose.

A 30-year journey, grounded on real innovation

Looking back at our beginnings, our focus on innovation has already made our solutions evolve as quickly as networks have. Operators needed visibility to understand traffic flows, service behavior, and the performance of fast-growing IP networks.

Innovation on products

Over 30 years, we have introduced hundreds of improvements across planning, testing, optimization and assurance. Explaining them all would take far more than a single blog post, so, instead, we have selected a few meaningful examples that show how our products and ideas have evolved.

From the ground to the air

In the early days, network testing meant carrying heavy equipment, connecting handsets with cables, and walking or driving through every location that needed measurement. It worked, but it was far from efficient.

Today, the same testing intelligence fits into a smartphone, and can even fly! By mounting TEMS on drones, operators can reach difficult or sensitive areas while reducing the need for extensive drive and walk testing. The result is faster coverage insight, lower operational costs, and a smaller environmental footprint.

Smarter tools for busier places

Indoor and event testing used to rely on classic phones connected to handheld tools. Today, indoor testing looks very different. Now, solutions like our TEMS Pocket Backpack allow engineers to move effortlessly through airports, stadiums, and exhibition halls with a complete multi-device setup, collecting high-quality data at scale without slowing down.

From heavy hardware to modern customer experience intelligence

Assuring great experiences requires more than collecting data. It requires understanding it before customers feel the impact. That is why we have evolved our automated assurance platform, Ativa™, to play a central role in correlating, enriching, and analyzing data across the network to bring 360º visibility and reveal the patterns that matter most.

By adding automation, AI/ML and Agentic AI capabilities, we are now enabling operators and enterprises to drive greater value from their data, transforming how they manage their networks and deliver superior experiences.

Also, since 2021, Empirix capabilities live in Hammer, our modern contact center experience assurance solution. What once required dedicated hardware now runs on cloud-native platforms that validate customer journeys end-to-end, from IVR and chatbots to voice quality, agent interactions and full digital workflows.

Turning RF engineers’ dreams into reality

Some innovations reshape workflows overnight. Planet Cloud is one of them. For years, RF engineers shared the same wish: “If only we could plan with Google’s geodata.” Through our partnership with Google Cloud, that wish is now a reality.

Combined with pre-calibrated propagation models, zero installation, and an intuitive cloud-native design, it gives engineers the simplicity, precision and scale they need for nationwide 5G rollouts, advanced FWA deployments and fast, collaborative planning.

Innovation for a better and more sustainable future

Progress is also reflected in the impact we make as a company. On our people, our communities and our planet.

Over the last few years, we have strengthened our commitment to ESG principles, integrating responsibility into how we innovate and how we operate.

Our latest carbon report shows a 41% reduction in emissions year-on-year, while our work with Nokia is a clear example of co-innovation supporting sustainability: by automating field performance validation, operators can now achieve a 28% reduction in repeat drive tests, cutting fuel consumption, CO₂ emissions, and on-road risks for field teams.

What 30 years have taught us

Working at the center of network evolution for three decades gives you a perspective. Here are some of the lessons learned from experience that are the basis of our current actions:

  • Data is only useful when it leads to action: Observability matters, but only when it’s grounded in trustworthy, harmonized data and paired with the ability to act. Operators do not need more dashboards. They need insight that drives decisions.
  • AI is powerful, but only with the right foundations: AI is transforming operations, but without consistent, domain-aware data, even the smartest models fall short. The future of automation starts with clarity.
  • The network lifecycle must work as one: Planning, testing, optimization, and assurance cannot live in silos. High-performance networks require unified intelligence across domains, a single source of truth that guides every decision.
  • Experience matters: In a world full of hype, to succeed, operators need a partner with experience and can help them stay focused on what truly moves the business forward with confidence and clarity.

The next chapter: a new era of network intelligence

While today marks a celebration of the past, it also marks the beginning of a new phase.

Networks are becoming more dynamic, more automated, and more AI-driven. Operators face unprecedented volumes of data, faster technology cycles, and higher expectations for performance and reliability.

The path forward requires network intelligence: information that is clear, actionable, and connected across the entire lifecycle.

We will soon take a significant step towards that future at MWC26, providing a more intelligent way for operators to design, test, and assure high-performance networks.
